The giant robots were in the neighborhood again. This time I managed to grab the camera fast enough to snap off a shot before they lumbered on. The best part about living in LA is that you get to see things that rarely happen anywhere else. Growing up in FL, I would occasionally hear about someone who knew someone who saw a giant robot in the distance, but I never experienced them standing outside the house.

One of the great joys of having kids is how they act as a constant reminder of the way I thought as a child and the things I dreamed of. The other day they sent my thoughts back to dreams of rocket ships and adventures in space, so that afternoon I built this little model and dreamt of travel.
